Each year (throughout the year), students are evaluated for cord level. At the time of the ‘Batizado’ is when you can take the time to dive into your progress and hard work. It is not everyone, every year that will advance, but that does not mean you didn’t do everything right.
Everyone is different and analyzed differently! It is not about the cord, it is about your determination and success as an individual.
BE THE BEST THAT YOU CAN BE…GIVE 100% and rest will follow.
1st ANNUAL BATIZADO 2013 Graduates! Best of luck this year guys!!!!! STAY MOTIVATED!!!!
REMEMBER WHENwe actually use to play outside? Now it is hard to pry our digital devices out of our hands. Let’s bring FAMILY TIME back…with a SIMPLE AND FUN DAY IN THE PARK!!
This event is modeled around parent participation. We encourage family oriented activities, as it is important during the growth and development stages of a child. You will find that Capoeira adds to dedication and improvement all around. This community event was created to occur approximately four (4) times per year. The goal is to bring the youth and families around DTLA and surrounding areas together by utilizing their interests in the arts. In addition, we plan to have lots of games, snacks, soccer, etc.
LAST “GRAND DAY IN THE PARK” DATE WAS: SAT., September 2015
NEXT “GRAND DAY IN THE PARK” DATE WILL BE: To be announced depending upon weather.
*The purpose of this event is to unite families in DTLA and surrounding areas through sports, outdoor games, food and fun*
We have gathered at GRAND PARK a few times now (btwn. Spring and Broadway, grass area) to kick summer off! This STARTED THURSDAY, JULY 3rd 2014 and the last gathering was September 2015.
Capoeira tradition heavily involves the music elements of instruments and singing, so please come join us to expand your horizon if you are a Capoeirista.
This is the chance to practice and prepare yourself musically for those who already train and are interested in improving their music and song skills. We will regularly update the date of the next opportunity, so be sure to check periodically, as the schedule may not continue regularly and will be based on participation.
Awareness starts at home Violence is not the answer
“Martial Arts has the ability to build respect and good character.”
We plan to bring more awareness to the fact that this is an ongoing problem and not only for kids in school, but adults also and people from all walks of life. THIS MUST STOP, so we fully support #Anti-BullyAwareness. NO BULLY IS A WINNER.
SUPPORTED: TAPOUT & Community Outreach, MMA ANTI-BULLYING CONFERENCE (SAT, AUG. 31st 2013)
THANK YOU to all of those who came out to support the ‘TapouT/Community Outreach Anti-Bullying Conference’ on SAT., AUG. 31st 2013, in South Los Angeles. We were told it was the first performance at Bethune Park that has been allowed in over twenty years, due to gang violence. There were games and prizes for the youth, a capoeira performance and free food!! Also, we wanted to thank all of the kind staff at the event for being so hospitable!
Unfortunately, it was said that approximately 30% of the neighborhood children have suffered from PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder), as a result of their surroundings. In the conference, many MMA guest speakers described their childhood and how they made it to where they are today. The kids learned that there are different ways to channel your energy in positive directions, as opposed to resorting to violence.
AGAIN, we appreciate all of your continued support. #CBDT
